Cavite State University bagged the Best Research Paper award in the Research and Development categories, respectively, 2nd Best Extension Paper, and Best Extension Poster during the Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic, and Resources Research Development and Extension Consortium’s (STAARRDEC) 34th Regional Symposium on Research, Development and Extension Highlights on 20 October 2021 via Zoom and Facebook Live.
Dr. Mirriam D. Baltazar and Ms. Arleen Calipjo-Panaligan’s paper entitled “DNA Fingerprinting of Philippine Coffee (Coffea spp.)” topped all entries and earned the Best Paper Award in the Research Category. On the other hand, Dr. Ruel M. Mojica and his co-authors Ms. Rosalie A. Pelle, Mr. Aeron R. Mojica and Mr. Andrew J. Siducon, in the paper entitled “Piloting and Commercialization of Specialty Coffee Blends” bested the paper presentations in the Development Category.
Meanwhile, “Transforming Silan’s Farm in Indang Cavite into Science for the Convergence of Agriculture and Tourism (SciCAT)” of Dr. Lilibeth P. Novicio, Dr. Ruel M. Mojica, Dr. Yolanda A. Ilagan, Dr. Pia Rhoda P. Lucero, Ms. Lady Aileen A. Orsal, Dr. Fe N. Dimero, Ms. Bernadette S. Amparo, Ms. Roselle G. Esguerra, Ms. Bessielyn V. Naños, Ms. Sheena Mae L. de Leon, and Ms. Raecel H. Lukban won the 2nd Best Extension Paper award while its poster entry got the Best Extension Poster award.
This year’s RSRDEH theme is “Science and Technology: Enhancing the Sustainability and Resiliency of the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Sectors.”
